Standardized Test Preparation (SAT, ACT, etc.)
Consultation, Discussion, & Diagnostic Exam
The prep course kicks off with an initial consultation and discussion to gauge the student's needs and goals, followed by a diagnostic exam using a full-length test provided by CollegeBoard (SAT) or ACT. This process not only assesses the student's starting point but also identifies specific strengths and weaknesses. The results are critical for customizing the tutoring plan to fit the student's individual learning style and test preparation needs.
Score Breakdowns & Initial Review
After the diagnostic test, we conduct a thorough review of the results and set up a personalized OneNote notebook for the student. This session involves breaking down the scores to understand areas of concern and potential growth, allowing for a detailed discussion about strategies for improvement. It serves to align the student's expectations with realistic goals and provides a structured framework for tracking progress
Spaced Repetition, Time-Drills & Domain-Specific Practices
This phase of the curriculum intensifies with the implementation of spaced repetition and timed drills to reinforce learning and improve time management skills. As mastery develops, students engage in domain-specific practices that allow them to solidify their knowledge and "test out" of subjects they've mastered. This combination ensures that each student is not only retaining information but also applying their knowledge effectively under exam conditions.
Full-Length Practice and Final Preparations
The preparation culminates with full-length practice tests that mirror the real testing environment, followed by comprehensive reviews of each test. These sessions are crucial for refining test-taking strategies and identifying any remaining areas for improvement. The final sessions focus on addressing last-minute questions and reinforcing the student’s confidence, ensuring they are fully prepared, both academically and psychologically, for the test day.
